Cathedral Park, Santa Fe, 2018

I have been coming to Santa Fe for years to sketch the interesting architecture. In the past, I have done panoramas by linking individual sheets of paper together to get a bigger drawing. I began using much larger pieces of paper around this time.

This drawing is about 40 inches wide. To draw on it I had to mount it on a board, then secure the paper with clamps. I actually needed two easels to hold the board and paper. I had a expansive drawing session using pencil that lasted almost three hours. Later, I finished the drawing in ink.
