I did this drawing when I was 26 years old. I was on a backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada range, in Matterhorn Canyon. At the time, my backpacking art gear consisted of small paper about 9″X6″, and a pencil. This made carrying it all the easier. I did the drawing in pencil first and then overlaid it with pen lines, a feature from this period.
